BETWEEN WORLDS
I have spent much of my life between worlds.
Born in Germany, I grew up moving between countries, cultures and languages, from Germany to Israel, the United States, Hong Kong, South Korea and the U.K. Home was never an easy answer.
For a long time, I thought this rootlessness was something I needed to resolve. Instead, it became a way of seeing the world differently.
The constant moving taught me to adapt, to listen, observe and understand each new environment so I could find my place within it. I learned to pay attention: to expressions, to gestures, to the way light moved in each space, to the familiar in the unfamiliar.
Creativity became a way of orienting myself when I didn't quite know where I stood.
Eventually, the camera, performance and writing became a kind of compass. Keys that unlocked doors within myself and to each world I found myself in.
I am currently based in France, near the Forest of Fontainebleau, where the landscape has become another kind of teacher.
artist, student, guide
I picked up my mother’s camera at sixteen and have worked professionally as a photographer and artist for over a decade. Somewhere along the way, I began turning the camera toward myself.
Self-portraiture became more than making pictures. It became a place of encounter — a way of making visible what I couldn't yet name, meeting difficult emotions, playing with possibility and seeing myself differently. It brought together my love of performance, expression and poetry, and ultimately brought me closer to myself.
Alongside my artistic practice, I have also spent many years teaching and guiding, from individual photographic workshops to longer photography journeys, and from one-to-one English coaching to group learning. These experiences have taught me how to listen, ask questions, hold supportive spaces and, perhaps most importantly, allow people to find their own language for what they want to express.
Spirituality and ritual have also become part of how I listen, orient myself and make meaning. I am drawn to the understanding that the world is not simply something we move through, but something we are in relationship with.
When we recognise ourselves in the other, in another person, an animal, a tree, a landscape, perhaps we remember that we were never as separate as we imagined.
THE UNVEILING WORLD
The Unveiling World has been a seedling of time, growing from threads of creativity, spirituality, nature, attention and my own search for belonging. It has been slow to emerge, asking to be listened to rather than forced into form.
Given the nature of its creation, it makes sense that the space I try to create is one for slowing down, paying attention and discovering what might appear when we look longer, listen deeper and open ourselves a little more, to ourselves, to one another and to the living world.
Through photography, self-portraiture, conversation, nature, ritual and reflection, I offer invitations rather than answers.
I won't tell you what your images mean or who you should become. I can look alongside you, ask questions, offer practices and create space for whatever emerges.
I practice what I invite you into.
A forever student, I am still making, questioning, getting lost, looking again and learning to be surprised.
